Energy Audit - Energy Rating - Energy Efficiency
Inspection
|
The
service begins with a brief client interview and is followed by a comprehensive
building inspection to determine efficiency needs. Over 16 different items and
building systems are evaluated. A blower door pressurization test will also be
preformed to determine building envelope air leakage. A detailed Audit report
will then be generated on site outlining concerns and recommendations.
Also provided are detailed efficient living recommendations and instructions on
how to operate the building systems more effectively. |

Why Hire an Energy Rater?
RESNET (Residential Energy Services Network) is the
certifying body established by the federal government to determine repairs on
FHA Energy Efficient mortgages and confirm Energy Star qualification for
builders.
There are a number of reasons that a homeowner, building management company or
builder would need to employ the services of an energy conservation consultant.
However, only a Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) certified energy
rater is qualified to certify a home or building for certain federal and state
tax credits, an Energy Efficient Mortgage, or an Energy Star rating. Home and
business owners are also now beginning to feel the affect of rapidly rising
energy prices and are seeking a professional energy evaluation to save on
monthly utility bills and reduce their carbon footprint. RESNET has adopted the
following standards and procedures to enhance the credibility and
professionalism of the energy rating industry:
RESNET Code of Ethics
RESNET Standards of Practice |
RESNET Financial Interest
Disclosure
Professional Liability Insurance |
|
 |
RESNET issues a Rater Seal of Quality to its members
who adhere to these stringent standards. These certified energy raters have
committed to RESNET that they will meet the high standards of RESNET ethics and
quality.
